About
Who Am I?
I am Lino Zosa, and I am a sophomore engineering student at Pitt's Swanson School of Engineering. I'm a Filipino born in the U.S. in Los Angeles, California. Later on, I moved to the Philippines to pursue my education. My interest in mechanical engineering dates back to when I was much younger. My younger self at the time was always driven by curiosity and imagination, greater than that of others. I always wanted to explore the objects around me and understand how they worked, as I would dissect everyday items, such as ballpoint pens and remotes. Eventually, this activity became a "hidden hobby" of mine. When high school began, my hobby emerged from the shadows through my involvement in high school science, mathematics, research, and robotics. As I reached my senior year in high school, I was sure that mechanical engineering was the degree I wanted to take once I reached college. In August 2024, I moved back to the U.S. and began my college journey at the University of Pittsburgh. This new journey served as an opportunity to take my undying interest in the field to a much deeper level. The journey has brought unforgettable experiences that have taught me significantly. The minor tinkering I had done when I was much younger had evolved into the path of tinkering and innovation.
